USPS Holiday Card Missing from
Scott U.S. Specialized Catalog
Pre-Sort Pre-Paid Bulk Rate Card Advertises Holiday Shipping Options
When I received this post card from the United States Postal Service in the mail 2-3 years ago, I remember thinking, "this is something I haven't seen before," and then stashing it away in a box full of post cards and other covers. I thought at the time, surely this will soon be listed in the Scott U.S. Specialized catalog, but to date that has not happened. I wish now that I had put it in an envelope with a date on it, because now I'm not sure exactly when I received it. I'm going to guess at 2013, but it could have been earlier.
The card itself is a pre-sort, pre-paid bulk rate postal card issued by the US Postal Service to advertise domestic Priority Mail Flat Rate shipping options for the holiday season. Interestingly, instead of having the typical, penalty mail, black and white eagle or some other mundane marking, this post card includes an image of a snowflake on red background. The inscription above the image reads "Presorted Standard Postage & Fees Paid". Below the image the inscription reads "USPS Permit No. G-10".
